2003-01-02 - 6:06 a.m.

So very sick...

It's 6 am. I managed to sleep for about six hours in two hour intervals. I woke up coughing and out of breath the first and last time I woke. The second time the garbage man woke me and I just lay in bed struggling to breath until I fell asleep again.

I just took my asthma inhaler and I'm hoping it will kick in soon. Well, my hands are shaking. That'a a sign the medication is working but on the other hand I can also barely draw in a breath and when I do it sounds like a chorus of yowling cats. I wish I was exaggerating. When I draw out a breath it sounds like one cat and something growling.

Only a few more hours until the doctor's office opens. I'm seriously doubting my ability to make it until then though...if I feel any worse or don't improve soon then I'm going to ask my mom to take me to the ER. Although, I guess that I'm sitting here writing this is a good sign that I'm doing better than I think I am and I have had worse asthma attacks than this. I've just never had one last this long. :-/

I just want to be able to sleep and not wake up feeling like I'm suffocating. :(
