Gacked from Musesfool on Live Journal, not from Seema for a change. Dude.

1. What was the first band you saw in concert?

I don't remember their name. It was some group that came to my jr. high as a promotion. Their name had something to do with money...

2. Who is your favorite artist/band now? Now? Does “now” make a difference once you’ve passed 30?

I like Madonna, Mary Black, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Madonna, Clannad, Madonna, James Taylor, Ccppercaille, Madonna...

We'll see once I pass 30.

3. What's your favorite song?

Madonna - Like a Prayer

Madonna - Papa Don't Preach

Madonna - Mer Girl

Sophie Ellis Bextor - Leave the Others Alone

Sophie Ellis Bextor - Lover

4. If you could play any instrument, what would it be?

Well, I play viola and violin but I would like to be able to play them better. If I had to choose a new instrument it would probably be piano.

5. If you could meet any musical icon (past or present), who would it be and why?

I don't know. I'd have to give this more thought...maybe Mozart because he was such an interesting man

And Another Music Survey as seen in LJs everywhere:

What was the first record you owned?

On vinyl?

Um, the Sesame Street soundtrack or one of Whitney Houstan's records, not sure which.

Is there a song that reminds you most of your childhood?

Most songs by James Taylor since that's almost exclusively what my mom listened to when I was younger. Or maybe Raffi.

If your life was a movie, what song would play over the following:

Opening credits: I don't know, possibly Like a Prayer by Madonna or Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring

Love Scene: Possibly Come What May...I hate that song. Maybe Lover by Sophie Ellis Bextor.

Driving scene that consists mostly of flashbacks and love lost: Adagio for Strings by Samuel Barber

Closing credits: Hmmm...Murder on the Dance Floor by Sophie Ellis Bextor? I don't know. I'm mostly just pulling these songs out of nowhere.

If applicable, name a song or concert that moved you to tears:

I think it's called Nothing Matter Anymore...really depends on my mood.

Music you like that could be considered a guilty pleasure:

B*Witched, they're the Irish version of Spice Girls. I'm so ashamed.

If your music collection was about to go up in flames, which 5 CDs would you save?

The Sophie Ellis Bextor CD my friend Krisy made me, The Immaculate Collection by Madonna, GHV2 by Madonna, Babes at the Window by Mary Black and probably No Frontiers by Mary Black.

Is there a song that describes you or a situation so well that you could have written it?

I really feel a close connection with Like a Prayer. I might just be misunderstanding it or I might have a different image or something in my head than others but it's how I feel.

Which underrated artist deserves more attention?

Mary Black

Has a song or artist changed your life in any way? If so, how?

Yes, some songs just come at the right time.

What is your favourite soundtrack?

Utena

What is your all time favourite music video?

Hmmm...I like the music video for "Human Nature" a lot but I also like "All the Things She Said" by T.A.T.U.

Current favourite radio hit:

"Beautiful" by Christina Aguilera.
