Last night was Eurovision and Turkey won. Their song wasn't bad (I liked the Turkish dancing that accompanied the song), but I didn't think it was the best. Personally, I truly enjoyed Spain's entry. As for the other entries, Russia's was disappointing, but I'd heard t.A.t.u didn't perform well live, plus the show seemed, in my mind, to villify the two girls, especially as they were favored to win. I enjoyed Belgium except that the singing could have been better. I think they should have gotten first place over Turkey, but it's all good. Ireland did not do well at all. They were expected to win if Russia didn't. If I recall, they came in 10th or 11th place out of twenty-four countries. I am not a big fan of Ireland's choice of singers, so I refrain from saying anything. Austria did surprisingly well. Their song was so absolutely bizarre. My friend B who is from Germany said they were singing about cats. Poland's song was also a bit bizarre, but I liked it better than Austria's. As for Greece, I didn't particularly enjoy their song, but I LOVED the outfit. She looked like a dominatrix. The cut in the dress was a little much, but other than that, she was gorgeous. I also liked the otufits for Israel's entry. I was amused how they spelled things out with their clothing. Another song entry that I liked was Germany's. Lou had a fabulous voice and the tune was extremely catchy. The outfits were cool too. My friend K and I decided that these outfits are what everyone will wear in the distant future - everyone will choose one color and have a shiny spacesuit type thing to pose. Dying of the hair is optional, of course. The guy for Norway kind of looked like the pictures of my dad from the Seventies. It was a little weird.

Overall opinion: A lot of it seemed like something from the Seventies or Eighties, especially with the song "The Eighties Are Comin`Back" (from Sweden, I think).
